Treat signs as the authority
Speed limits and restrictions vary by road and location. Follow posted signs and current conditions rather than a single number remembered from an article. Reduce speed for visibility, pedestrians, animals, roadworks, rain or mountain bends even when a higher limit is displayed.
Motorways and tolls
Motorways can simplify travel between major cities but require toll preparation, lane discipline and rest planning. Check the official ADM tariff and traffic information for the actual route.
Cities, medinas and parking
Expect pedestrians, scooters, taxis and frequent lane changes. Avoid entering narrow medina streets simply because navigation suggests them. Confirm legal parking and the accommodation’s vehicle access before arrival.
Mountains and long distances
Weather and road conditions can change quickly. Avoid committing to a rigid arrival time, refuel before remote stretches, keep daylight margin and ask whether the selected vehicle is appropriate for the planned road.
